Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Opens 600th Restaurant

October 12, 2026

WICHITA, Kan. – Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, the fast-casual restaurant concept known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers and freshly churned frozen custard, has reached a major milestone in its continued nationwide development. Today, the brand announced the opening of its 600th restaurant in Beaufort, South Carolina.

The restaurant is an endcap, no-drive-thru prototype as part of Freddy’s recent initiative to introduce more flexible development formats that can accommodate a wider range of real estate opportunities and support continued brand growth. Additionally, the new location will feature seating for 65 guests and an outdoor patio. It will be owned and operated by long-time Freddy’s franchisee Charleston Custard, further expanding the brand’s footprint across the Southeast.

“Opening our 600th restaurant is an incredible milestone for Freddy’s and an exciting marker of the brand’s continued expansion,” said Chris Dull, President & CEO of Freddy’s. “Our shift towards in-line and endcap models is giving us greater flexibility in how and where we develop, creating more opportunities to bring Freddy’s to communities across the country. We’re excited to build on this momentum, bringing Freddy’s freshly prepared food and genuine hospitality to new markets.”

As Freddy’s expands into a wider range of trade areas and real estate opportunities, Freddy's has grown beyond its traditional standalone model with a renewed focus on endcap and in-line restaurants. These build types provide additional flexibility for franchisees while creating new pathways for growth in priority markets. With ongoing expansion, the brand will continue to prioritize growth across the Northeast, Rust Belt, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and Florida. Freddy’s is looking to grow in international markets as the brand recently agreed to a development deal for five units in the Philippines.

Founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002, Freddy’s has built a loyal following through its cooked-to-order menu, hospitality-driven culture and streamlined operational model designed to support long-term franchise growth. The brand continues to attract experienced operators seeking scalable growth opportunities in the fast-casual restaurant space.

Today, Freddy’s operates 600 locations across the United States and is actively seeking qualified single- and multi-unit franchisees domestically and internationally, including throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
